The homie Jon Reyes, producer and beat mastermind behind Delorean music, hit me with this freshness earlier today. The bay is seriously coming out with hard hitters right now, and these guys are just one more solid reason why the world shouldn’t be sleeping on us. This is that conscious rap with a straight hip hop feel. I applaud artists who aren’t afraid to touch on topics of real...

“How much more can be done in hip-hop?” may be a question that people may ask themselves on a regular basis, but that’s only because their scope of what hip-hop should sound like is limited. What I hear on Delorean’s No More Heroes is what it states in the spoken intro, and that is the thing that’s been missing all these years. You may not be able to describe it, but once you hear it, it unfolds...

Album Review: Delorean – No More Heroes (2009) Rating: 3 out of 5 Potholes
Hello new world. Let me introduce you to Delorean - a one-emcee one producer duo hailing from Sacramento, California. Jon Reyes & 5th Ave dropped their project No More Heroes earlier this year in case you haven’t heard it. The opening track “No More Heroes”, which features D. Scott and is part-conversation...

You may know 5th Ave from the Neighborhood Watch collective (State Cap, Dahlak, Random Abiladeze) or from seeing one of his live shows at Press Club, Second Saturday, or at Empire. His latest album No More Heroes was released in mid-July as part of his new group Delorean. Jon Reyes produced the album and is the other half of the group. No More Heroes offers a heavy blend...

I can’t say that I’ve followed the career of Bambu very closely, but I’ve heard the name before & have always meant to check out his music. So recently when Jon Reyes posted up his remix of the LA rapper’s track Pull It Back, I decided to take a listen. Released off of his sophomore album I Scream Bars For Kids-which is a very dope title & has an equally dope...

Just when I am ready to leave Rap/Hip-Hop behind and begin a career in electronica/emo/phunk-rock, some sh*t comes along and hits my eardrum in the balls. Emcee, Sean La Marr & Producer, Jon Reyes of Delorean bring to us on this outstanding EP, a 30 minute tapestry of ‘heart on a sleeve’ emotion, real-life documentarianism, humor-ridden introspection, and wicked...

Well I was able to get my hands on a copy of this EP by Delorean, which is saying a lot because for some odd reason it’s not listed on iTunes, but I digress. The group is comprised of Sacramento natives 5th Ave & producer Jon Reyes, so sort of like Shwayze, but with mounds more talent and less gimmicky bull.
‘No More Heroes’ the groups 8 track EP, was resting in my...

Delorean-No More Heroes
What do you get when you mix Neighborhood Watch founder 5th Ave, producer Jon Reyes, & a time traveling car? Aside from a crazy version of Back to the Future, you’d get the No More Heroes EP. When this emcee & producer formed Delorean, they set out on producing an EP of material unlike anything either had done prior; they succeeded with...

Rap to the future: Neighborhood Watch co-founder and emcee 5th Ave and local producer Jon Reyes are Delorean, whose eight-song release, No More Heroes, takes local hip-hop back to the basics: smart raps, catchy hooks, chill harmonies, addictive bass, rich synths—all a welcome reprieve from the hyperfast BPM, aggro-snare, bouncy-lows trends of mainstream rap.
Beats don’t...
